Editor in Chief

We are proud to have Matt Desmarais as our Editor in Chief.

Matt Desmarais

Matt Desmarais is a native New Englander, born and raised in Dracut, Mass.  He holds a Masters degree in Sports Marketing from Georgia State University and has worked in various sporting venues like the Boston Garden, Georgia Dome, and Tsongas Arena.  He has also worked with several events/corporate sponsorships like U.S. Soccer 1992, Sail Boston 1992, the Goodwill Games 1994, Minor League Baseball, American Skiing Company, and U.S. Women’s Soccer.

Matt is a former whitewater rafting guide and rock climbing instructor.  Above all this, as an avid outdoorsman, Matt’s love of fishing remained a constant.  His inability to easily find places to fish drove him to begin researching and collecting data on Massachusetts’ public access lakes and ponds.  Unable to find any published books or literature that detailed where and how to fish in the state, drove him to take on the venture of creating the guides.

Matt's years of experience have landed several nice sized fish, but nothing worth bragging about.  Over the years, he could have just as easily been the guy standing next to you on the first day of the trout stocking season.  Matt just happened to recognize the need for an informative book on where and how to fish in New England.  Matt and his family reside in Pepperell, Ma.
