MassWildlife - The state fish and wildlife agency works to conserve and manage wildlife heritage by offering expertise and assistance, addressing issues involving wildlife and habitat, and making sure people understand and comply with laws designed to protect the state’s populations of wild plants and animals. MA Fishing License - To purchase a fishing license, or to get the latest license information, visit: http:/www.sport.state.ma.us. You can also go to your town hall or some local bait and tackle shops to make a purchase. Licenses are only good for the calendar year and expire at the end of December.

Angler Education Program - As part of MassWildlife, the purpose of the program is to enlighten the public, especially children, about the state’s aquatic outdoors through the experience of fishing. By introducing sport fishing to the public, the program’ goal is to promote Massachusetts’ abundant waterways. Public Access Board

Public Access Board - The agency provides boat and canoe access sites at more than 200 locations on coastal waters, great ponds and rivers throughout Massachusetts. Department of Environmental Police

Department of Environmental Police - The department has the primary responsibility of the state’s waterways. It enforces all recreational vessel and vehicle laws and regulations. Along with law enforcement, additional responsibilities include investigating vessel theft, search and rescue, boat and recreational vehicle registration, and education through the Boating & Recreational Vehicle Safety Bureau. 251 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114, (617) 626-1665

Department of Environmental Protection

Department of Conservation and Recreation

Department of Conservation and Recreation - The department is dedicated to conserving the state’s natural and cultural resources through professional stewardship, and connecting people to these resources through recreation and education.
